According to a statement from Kensington Palace made to Daily Mail, the prince convinced Rihanna to join him just the night before.
"They spoke after he had given his speech. They spoke for about 15 minutes," the Daily Mailreported. "She was very happy to do it. She has had people in her life that she has known who have died from AIDS. She said this is important and she wanted to do this."

"Oh, that was not bad! You made it seem like it would hurt. It's not as painful as you said this morning," RiRi exclaimed to her new best friend before being declared negative.
While it might have been her first go-round, this isn't the first time Prince Harry has demonstrated the ease of which one can be tested for the virus.
In July, he streamed himself getting tested on Facebook Live to promote the importance of HIV prevention.
"Whether you're a man, woman, gay, straight, black, white, even ginger; why wouldn't you come in and get a test?" the prince said in the stream.
Prince Harry has been vocal about HIV awareness—and the "risk for complacency"—for some time now. In a speech at the 2016 International AIDS conference, he called upon young leaders to step up to the plate.
"It is time for us to step up to make sure no young person feels any shame in asking for an HIV test," he said. "It is time for us to step up and acknowledge that stigma and discrimination still act as the greatest barrier to us defeating this disease once and for all."
To learn more about how you can get tested for HIV, resources are available at Planned Parenthood or call 800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636) for information about free testing sites in your area.
