Hipster glasses company Warby Parker has always been early to embrace new technology.

On Tuesday,Watch Selina's Gold Online the company rolled out an update to its iPhone app just for iPhone X users, that will use the new phone's front-facing infrared camera to map the user's face and get them fitted for a new set of frames.

The iPhone X's infrared camera is used for its Face ID security, which projects thousands of dots on a user's face to distinguish one from another. It's what the Xbox Kinect does as well.

The technology can map the 3D depth of a face too, so it's a lot more effective than simply superimposing a set of frames on a flat photo of someone.

To use it, open the app (on an iPhone X, of course) and tap "find your fit."

After the mapping is done, the app recommends you a series of frames it thinks will fit.

It doesn't put the frames on your face, however.

Some early reviews on the app did not spare the snark.

"If I had $1200 to spend on a phone that can analyze my face to make your glasses fit better, I wouldn’t have to buy glasses on-line from Warby Parker," said a user called perico.

Still, props to Warby Parker for jumping on that iPhone X bandwagon fast.
