He told the press that he held meetings with officials from nearly 20 countries, including some Caribbean nations "for the first time in the history of our diplomacy," countries "such as Belize or San Escobar."
Waszczykowski's spokeswoman, Joanna Wajda, later said the top diplomat had been thinking of Saint Kitts and Nevis (known as San Cristobal y Nieves in Spanish).
He said it was a slip of tongue due to 22 hours in planes and connecting flights.

A Twitter account claiming to represent the “República Popular Democrática de San Escobar "(People's Democratic Republic of San Escobar) popped up online -- with a flag, maps and photographs.

A Facebook page dedicated to "San Escobar" even posted pictures which allegedly showed work in progress on a huge statue of Waszczykowski (it actually depicts Philip of Macedon).
Another Twitter account posted a picture of a "San Escobar" banknote with a picture of Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Poland’s governing party.
