Ever since we learned that Star Wars Episode VIIIwas going to be Crime Archivescalled The Last Jedi, fans have been scrambling to figure out what that means. Who is the Last Jedi? Is it plural? Is it a typo of 'lost?' HELP US, RIAN JOHNSON, YOU'RE OUR ONLY HOPE.
The Episode VIII director told ABC News that Jedi is, in fact, singular...and that it refers, at least to him, to our first and favorite young padawan.

Given that and Luke's chilling declaration in the teaser that "It's time for the Jedi to end," things are pretty up in the air for Mr. Skywalker.
"I fundamentally disagree with virtually everything you've decided about my character," Mark Hamill says in a Nightlineinterview, recalling what he said to director Rian Johnson after first reading Episode VIII. Between that and his teaser line and the rumors Luke may turn to the Dark Side, could this really be the end of the Jedi? Can we not???
The Last Jedi will be in theaters on Dec. 15.
