As with the new Motorola Razr, the durability of the the Z Flip's screen was called into question after a test by gadget reviewer JerryRigEverything revealed the phone's screen was easily scratched.
In response to an inquiry from The Verge, Samsung confirmed that, as with the Galaxy Fold, Z Flip owners will be able to secure both a free screen protector and a screen replacement for just $119.
The price itself isn't bad considering an me only, which doesn't inspire confidence given the phone's $1,380 price tag.
The price for the replacement screen isn't bad considering an out-of-warranty screen replacement for an iPhone 11 will set you back $199.
SEE ALSO: Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip was so fun I didn't want to give it upBut the ease with which the Z Flip was scratched is troubling, especially considering Samsung has claimed the screen is actually very thin glass, which should be more resistant to scratches.
Now that the phone is in customers' hands, we should know pretty soon if the screen proves as susceptible to normal wear and tear as it does to reviewer razor blades.
