If you go to a special Gulf of Mexico-themed part of MapQuest, you can type in anything you want, and it'll generate a map that renames the Gulf of Mexico after whatever you typed in. For example:

All of this was brought on by the fact that some people have apparently decided the Gulf of Mexico is called something else now, and Google Maps actually complied and changed the name in that app. Apple did the same thing, too.
