It's finally here. Apple announced the Watch Series 4 at its big event in California on eroticism in imperialismWednesday, and it's just as great as we'd hoped.
Apple says it will start taking pre-orders for the GPS and cellular versions on Sept. 14, most likely around 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET.
The Watch Series 4 will officially be available in stores on Sept. 21.
An Aluminum Series 4 40mm with GPS is $399 and the 44mm is $429. If you want cellular connectivity, you will add $100 to the price point. The higher end Gold Stainless Steel Series 4 is $699 and $749 for the 40mm and 44mm sizes, respectively. There is no ceramic or gold Apple Watch Edition version of the Series 4.
Apple has not announced every carrier that will offer the Series 4, but we expect it to be available on most major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint.
At full retail price the Series 4 40mm in Aluminum is $399 for GPS and $499 for GPS and Cellular. The Series 4 44mm in Aluminum is $429 for GPS and $529 for GPS and Cellular.
Full retail for the Series 4 in Stainless Steel is $699 for GPS and Cellular, or $749 for the 44mm stainless steel with GPS and Cellular.
Apple will kick off pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 4 GPS and Cellular at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET.
At full retail the Apple Watch Series 4 is $499.99 for the 40mm in Aluminum, $529.99 for the 44 mm in Aluminum, $699.99 for the 40mm in Stainless Steel, and $749.99 for the 44mm in Stainless Steel.
On T-Mobile's Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) the 40mm Aluminum is $20.83 a month with a $0 down payment, the 40mm Stainless Steel is $22 a month with a $171.99 down payment, the 44mm Aluminum is $22.08 a month with a $0 down payment, and the 44mm Stainless Steel is $22 a month with $221.99 a month.
T-Mobile starts pre-orders for the Series 4 starting on Sept. 14 at 12:01 a.m. PT.
The carrier is being a bit more tight-lipped on the Series 4 pricing but it will start at $83.33 per month for six months and activation fee is waived for a limited time.
Verizon kicks off pre-orders for the Series 4 starting on Sept. 14 at 12:01 a.m. PT.
On AT&T the Series 4 will cost full retail at $499 for the 40mm and $529 for the 44mm.
Eligible customers will be able to get a $30 activation fee credit and a $30 service credit with the purchase of an Apple Watch Series 4.
AT&T will kick off pre-orders for the Series 4 on Sept. 14 at 12 a.m. PT at its retail stores, att.com/apple, and the myATT app.
On Sprint's 24 month installment offering the Series 4 40mm is 20.84 a month with $0 down and $22.09 a month with $0 down for the 44mm.
We're still waiting for pricing to be announced from this carrier.
U.S. Cellular has announced that pre-orders for the Series 4 will start on Sept. 14 on its online store and area U.S. Cellular stores. As of the late morning on Sept. 14
Now that Apple's blessed us with the Watch Series 4 it will reduce the price of its Series 3; as of today, prices for the Series 3 base GPS start at $279.
