If you've watched as much My Little Pony: Friendship is Watch Hugas OnlineMagic as I have -- it's a young-daughters thing, not a Brony thing, OK? -- then it will come as no surprise that the music, themes and visuals around this franchise can be fairly sophisticated these days.
And leave it to Sia to put a touch of sparkly melancholy into her contribution to the upcoming My Little Pony: The Moviesoundtrack, a song called "Rainbow," which also got its own music video on Tuesday.
SEE ALSO: Sia's going to be a pop star pony in 'My Little Pony: The Movie'Sia plays a pop-star pony Songbird Serenade, of whom we get a glimpse at the top of this video.
Her dancing muse Maddie Ziegler splashes her way through this slick examination of up-and-down emotions -- "I can see a rainbow in your tears as they fall on down/ I can see your soul grow through the pain as they hit the ground/ I can see a rainbow in your tears as the sun comes out" is something that both little kids and adults can relate to, no? *Sniff*.
And maybe it's not Sia's mostaffecting track, but if you're like me and you see My Little Pony through the eyes of the little kids for whom it was intended, we'll forgive you for making tiny eye-rainbows after a couple of listens.
