Apple released the public version of iOS 13.5 on Wednesday, making a host of changes that were previously only available to developers in the beta release finally accessible to the wider public. Notably, it does not introduce a contact-tracing app into the phone itself.

It also will help those whose mask-wearing is getting in the way of their Face ID dependence.

"iOS 13.5 speeds up access to the passcode field on devices with Face ID when you are wearing a face mask," reads the iOS updates page, "and introduces the Exposure Notification API to support COVID-19 contact-tracing apps from public health authorities."

Fun, right?

Notably, Apple's security updates page doesn't list iOS 13.5 as patching any security vulnerabilities. However, in general it's good practice to always keep your devices up to date.
