What's old is Watch Powerdefinitely new again.
Nintendo's highly anticipated NES Classic Edition launched on Friday and immediately sold out everywhere. Even before it launched, we knew the $60 mini-sized console, which runs 30 classic NES games, would be a hit this holiday season.
As with all hot items, scalpers quickly started selling the consoles on eBay and Craigslist with prices going from double to outrageous.
A quick search on eBay shows NES Classic Editions selling for between $65 and a whopping $1,225. The listings for sub-$100 are, of course, moving fast.
Just look at this ridiculousness:
A $60 gadget is going for $1,225. That's a 1941.6 percent increase.
Come on people, you're smarter than this! Don't pay these scalper prices!
Craigslist is no better than eBay. Here's a search in the New York area:
The shortage of NES Classic Editions and outrageous reseller prices is enraging fans.

I'm not sure why #Nintendo continues to advertise the NES Classic Mini at this stage when they have been sold out everywhere since day one.

Consumers are so upset they can't buy one that they took to Amazon to wreak havoc. Within hours of the console selling out, the product's Amazon rating dropped from five stars to 1.5-stars. Ouch.
Here's a sampling of the butt-hurt "reviews":
Guys...guys...it's just a console. It's really not that serious...
For what it's worth, Nintendo says it'll have more shipments soon:
The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. 1/3
