With their 2-1 victory over Spain on Watch Vagabond OnlineMonday, the USWNT advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2019 Women's World Cup. As they're busy defending their 2015 win, their lawsuit against U.S. Soccer, which alleges "years of ongoing institutionalized gender discrimination," continues.

The lawsuit was filed on International Women's Day 2019, March 8, and drew on a previous wage complaint filed to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 2016, after the team won in 2015.

That complaint underscored the gross disparity in pay between U.S. Soccer's women's and men's teams. Women players make substantially less than those on the men's team, despite the overwhelming success of the women's team — including that 2015 World Cup win, not to mention winning four gold medals and a silver medal over the last six Summer Olympics.

Their argument was further strengthened by a recent Wall Street Journalstory that showed how, over the last three years, the women's team has brought in more revenue for U.S. Soccer than the men's.

From 2016 to 2018, women’s games generated about $50.8 million in revenue compared with $49.9 million for the men, according to U.S. soccer’s audited financial statements. In 2016, the year after the World Cup, the women generated $1.9 million more than the men. Game revenues are made up mostly of ticket sales. In the last two years, at least, the men’s tally includes appearance fees that opposing teams pay the U.S. for games.

For what it's worth, the U.S. men's team union issued a statement in support of the women's team's push for equal pay when the lawsuit was filed in March.

Just days ago, the U.S. Soccer Federation and the women's national team took a big step in agreeing to enter the mediation process once the World Cup ends. But fans may be wondering what they can still do to help out the team, especially as their dominant play in the World Cup has attracted a lot of attention to their cause.

While the players have it locked down on the pitch, and attorneys have the lawsuit angle covered, there are still plenty of ways you can show your support to the U.S. women's team and make your voice and your backing heard by those in power.

1. Watch and attend the games

This is super easy: Just watch! Whether in person or on television, show your support with your eyeballs. The team is currently in France, but they play friendly matches (stand-alone matches against other countries that aren't part of a tournament) pretty regularly across the country.

In 2015, after winning the World Cup, the team embarked on a "Victory Tour." They may just do the same if they can pull off a victory in France. Plus, 2020 Olympic qualifying is right around the corner, so there will be more chances to see them in person as they play other teams from the CONCACAF region. No upcoming matches are on the schedule yet, but keep your eyes peeled on this page.

If you can't make it to the stadiums to support the team, you can watch on TV. Games are nationally televised and easily streamable, usually on the FOX or ESPN family of networks. In fact, FOX reports that television ratings for this year's World Cup are up by 13 percent over the 2015 tournament and a whopping 65 percent over 2011.

2. Support all women's soccer

Hey, you know U.S. stars like Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd play soccer for more than just the national team, right? In fact, there's a whole professional league — the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) — based right here in the U.S. That's where dozens of players who are participating in the current World Cup play professionally, including the entireUSWNT roster.

The NWSL has nine teams around the country, in Chicago; Houston; Portland; Orlando; Tacoma, Washington; D.C.; Sandy, Utah (outside Salt Lake City); Cary, North Carolina (outside Raleigh); and Piscataway, New Jersey. Action has been light lately with so many players in the World Cup, but once that tournament wraps up in early July, the games pick up again.

Best of all, you can stream every NWSL match via Yahoo! Sports.

And there's more! If you don't live near one of the NWSL teams, there's the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), whose season runs through July. There's also all levels of collegiate soccer. The NCAA Division I season kicks off in mid-August and runs through early December.

3. Buy the merch!

Revenue can send a big message when it comes to proving the support of a particular team, which makes it even more frustrating that the U.S. Soccer Federation has been slow to factor that in here. But if we combine attendance revenue with higher merchandise revenue, maybe they'll get the message.

Of the previous seven Women's World Cups, the U.S. has won three. They're the favorite to win the 2019 tournament. Don't get left out in showing your support: The USWNT and U.S. Soccer's online shop has you covered with jerseys, shirts, and other items, including several USWNT items in men's sizes.

Oh, and the NWSL and WPSL have their own online stores, too, which makes it easy to grab whatever accessories you need before you head out to the next match.

4. Say it loud, say it often

You can send a message with your eyeballs and your money. But you can also use your voice (IRL and online) to support the team. Follow the USWNT everywhere on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. While you're at it, find the players on the various platforms; they're all worth a follow.

You should also follow the U.S. Soccer Federation on those same platforms and let them know how you feel, with your (respectful and constructive) replies showing support for the USWNT and their cause. While nothing will get the message across like a fourth World Cup title, making your voice heard to U.S. Soccer will show the groundswell of support for the USWNT. It's support they richly deserve.
