In today's edition of things no one asked for: Dunkin' Donuts is The Hitman: Blood Smells Like Rosesreleasing a new coffee-inspired beer this fall.
The coffee chain is collaborating with another Boston favorite, Harpoon Brewery, to create the new brew.
Strangely, this isn't Dunkin Donuts' first foray into beer. This past December the coffee company partnered up with Wormtown Brewery to release the DDark Roasted Brew stout beer. The beer however, was only offered on tap at Wormtown for a limited time.
SEE ALSO: Broccoli coffee is a thing, because you're not eating your vegetablesLabels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, first obtained and reported by Tenemu, revealed that the new beverage will be called the Dunkin' Coffee Porter. The labels also indicate what customers can expect from the new brew: a dark classic porter brewed with Dunkin' Donuts coffee, a smooth, "roasty, malty" flavor profile, and a dark chocolate, espresso aroma.
A spokesperson for Dunkin' Donuts confirmed that the information provided in the obtained labels are indeed accurate in an email to Mashable.
Harpoon spokesman Chris Bonacci told Boston.com that the brewery would be collaborating with the coffee company and said that the new beer can be expected to launch around late October or early November.
The labels also indicate that the beer will be sold in both 12-ounce cans and bottles, and according to Bonacci, Dunkin' Donuts is planning for a regional distribution.
Great news for all the 21-and-over fans of Dunkies. But, if you're not a big fan of the watered-down bean town blend — and maybe this is just my New York bias talking here — you might want to check out something a little more interesting, like this beer named after Beyoncé.
