The company is set to launch Xiaoxiang Supermarket, its dark store model offering on-demand fulfillment, according to a report by Chinese media outlet 36Kr. The Saudi expansion of Xiaoxiang will be spearheaded by Liu Wei, a long-time Meituan veteran who has managed teams across several business units, including B2B supply chain, community group buying, and “to store” operations.
